We stayed here Friday just gone. We had a really wonderful stay. The staff were the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at any hotel and very welcoming and helpful.
The food was lovely and the room was beautiful too and very clean. Overall very happy and will absolutely be coming to stay again. Thank you 😁

I visited just their pub/restaurant which was nice. Portions were generous the reasonably priced. Food was tasty and I really appreciated how careful they were putting together a pasta dish for my toddler, with peas and corn and extra Parmesan cheese on the side. The scones were delicious.
Staff was underpaid, or at least that’s how they behaved. Not very motivated to make you feel welcome. But then again, we visited from the US so service in the UK is typically less worthy of praise by comparison.

We attended the NYE dinner/party at the George last night which was lovely! We love the hotel to eat/drink/stay normally but the NYE party was extra good.
The dinner was beautifully thought out and presented – the flavours were amazing! The package with the dinner/party/stayover/breakfast was very good value and we all really enjoyed the whole thing.
Many thanks to the lovely attentive staff, chef and Remi Knight who was our very helpful contact for organizing our stay. We'd definitely do the whole thing again!
