Interesting historic place to visit. The tour guide lady is extremely knowledgeable and courteous. The family history of the home residents is compelling.

We had an excellent tour of Whitehern, and our interpreter, Sonya, was absolutely incredible. The house itself is such a treasure. We visited in the winter and are already planning to come back in the summer when the gardens are in bloom. Sonya was a fantastic storyteller and really brought the house to life.
We’ve visited several other historic houses in the area, and Whitehern is hands down my favourite. It’s intimate and beautifully preserved, with most of the rooms staged entirely with objects from the family. It truly feels like the family just stepped out. I can’t recommend this place enough.

An awesome hidden gem in Hamilton. A historical museum in the front, when you enter it is as you are transported back to the time the house was built.
