Tucked along the serene Subic Bay shoreline, The Reef Hotel and Residences offers a tranquil boutique escape that artfully blends coastal charm with modern comforts. During a stay in their Family Suite Bayview room, guests are treated to thoughtfully designed interiors inspired by vibrant coral reefs, a well‑appointed kitchenette, stable Wi‑Fi, and a balcony overlooking calming bay waters—perfect for quiet mornings or sundown reveries. The extras—such as in‑room breakfast service featuring classic Filipino fare, a 24‑hour convenience store, spa and nail services, and easy proximity to Subic’s dining, retail, and convention hubs—speak to a stay that’s both effortless and indulgent. Most striking, however, is the attentive, warm service from the staff—from check‑in to check‑out—which elevates what begins as a restful getaway into a rejuvenating experience you’ll wish to linger in.

The location is along Waterfront road. The furnitures inside the room is not as good as the first time we checked-in last 2016. It was very beautiful at that time.

The towels are already light grayish in color and also thinner. You may opt not to use them if you are a germophobe.

The lobby is very nice when you enter.
I hope the management looks into the other comments of the people who stayed so as to improve the facilities.

The service of the staff is superb. Very accommodating.

Well, having looked on Google maps for a place to go to and eat, this hotel popped up. I always read the reviews and feel they are a good guide.
So off we went on a drive along a scenic coast road. We arrived at our destination hungry. The hotel is a lot smaller than it looks on GM. The pool is right next to the car park. I always judge a hotel by its pool and the upkeep. Well, the water was milky and didn't look particularly clean. I wouldn't have put my kids in it. On to the restaurant. A lovely place decorated in a pseudo Nepalese style. An assortment of low chairs and low tables with ornate Nepalese style lanterns dotted around the place. It was comfortable and welcoming. We were the only ones in there at the time, about midday.
The menu was promising, offering a mix of foods including local fare. I opted for Chicken Inasal, and my companions' initial choice was (famously) 'unavailable' Opting for an alternative beef dish. Now, the dish they had opted for was described as tender succulent pieces of beef on a scewer with java rice. The food arrived, and theirs looked impressive. A scewer of large chunks of beef with peppers and onion hanging from a hook suspended over the rice. The beef looked suspiciously black. I thought it was a heavy marinade. My Inasal was rather less impressive. A leg and thigh served with a pot of soy sauce and rice. Nothing else.
The java rice was OK. The peppers and onion were ok too. The beef. Dear God, dry. Dry, dry, dry. Horrible. So dry and over cooked, I thought it must have been carved from an Egyptian mummy's leg. It was awful. Similarly, the chicken, just dry. I was going to complain and ask for the succulent beef to be brought out. Clearly, it was hidden somewhere in the kitchen, this beef having been confused for the chefs flip flops.
My friend didn't want to make a fuss, so I went along with it. I wish I hadn't.
We also had a watermelon shake. Ice and watermelon, nothing else, no milk, no ice cream.
The bill was P840. I think the food was abysmal.
Now the venue is lovely, great views, great location. We didn't see the rooms, but there were guests there, none in the pool, of course.
If you do venture here, have a drink and admire the views. Leave the food well alone.
