Our walks through the Abbey Gardens were one of our favorite parts of our visit to Bury St. Edmunds. We visited them every morning and evening since they were beautiful and wonderfully quiet. They’re also the perfect place to take a dog on a walk.
The ancient ruins of the Abbey, the beautiful gardens and trees, and of course the cathedral were all really lovely to spend our daily walks in.

Been living here for years now and Abbey Gardens is always nice to visit. The gardens are gorgeous in the spring with the flower beds and squirrels everywhere, and the little coffee shop and the aviary is lovely to see. There's a small koo fish bond thats open most of the time, perfect to sit in quiet with a coffee in hand. People set up picnics here all the time and have a great time, and you can also read about the ruins on the information boards.

The momerial garden is beautiful all year round and very moving. A lovely place to sit and think, or read the plaques.
The aluminium bench was a donation from the USAAF, but had no explanation of what exactly it was made from. I assume it's part of an aircraft wing, and would love to know more about it.
