A lovely home opened to the public. Do the tour and gain a better appreciation of the heritage house and its family. Food is amazing. The Chicken Ajilio is a must try! The staff are kind, welcoming, and very sweet. All of my expectations of a traditional Ilonggo home met and exceeded. When in Iloilo City, do not miss the opportunity to visit and dine. Just make sure not to go famished as you might need to wait for a table. They only have 7 tables but I think there's a private room for a big group that you can reserve. It really is more of a museum than a restaurant and I hope they keep it that way.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful heritage cafe with amazing food and views!
What a gem in Iloilo! Agatona 1927 Museum Cafe is housed in a stunning old heritage home from 1927, and dining here feels like stepping back in time. The place is beautifully preserved with original architectural details, vintage furniture, and family photos on the walls that tell the story of the house.
The food was really good! We had the creamy mushroom pasta and wonton soup – both were delicious and well-presented. The portions were decent and the flavors were on point. Everything felt elevated yet comforting at the same time.
What I loved most was the combination of everything – the historical ambiance, the view of Jaro Cathedral right across the plaza from the balcony (perfect photo spot!), and just the overall vibe of the place. You're literally eating in a piece of Iloilo history.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and the unique setting you're getting. It's not your everyday cafe experience.
If I lived in Iloilo, I would definitely be a regular here. It's perfect for special occasions, dates, or just when you want a nice meal in a beautiful setting. The mix of good food, history, and ambiance is hard to beat. Highly recommend visiting when you're in the Jaro area!

We walked into Agatona Museum Cafe thinking it would be quiet. Wrong. The place was packed. The entire second floor was occupied by visitors from other LGUs who arrived by the busload. Proof that this is not just a cafe, but a destination.

The real hero of the day was the owner and her staff. Calm, gracious, and incredibly sharp. They told us they could still scoot us in before the rest of the visitors arrived, and they did so without making us feel rushed or out of place. That kind of hospitality sets the tone immediately.

The place itself is stunning. Colonial opulence meets museum reverence. You are not just dining, you are stepping into history. Set in Jaro, a district that is essentially a living museum, surrounded by ancestral mansions and old money silence, Agatona fits perfectly into its setting. The second-floor view overlooking Jaro Plaza is the highlight. You sit there, coffee in hand, watching history breathe below you.

A quick note on why this place matters. Jaro has always been a cultural and intellectual center of Iloilo, home to heritage houses, old families, and stories that shaped the city. Agatona does not try to modernize or dilute that. It preserves it, curates it, and lets you experience it at your own pace.

Our museum ticket came with drinks at the cafe, which already feels like good value. But what truly surprised us was the quality of the food and drinks. We ordered the hot chocolate tablea and sandwiches, and without exaggeration, it is the best we have had so far. Rich, balanced, and unapologetically indulgent. The kind of food and drink that makes you stop talking mid sentence.

Agatona Museum Cafe is what happens when history, design, and hospitality are done right. It is not trying to be trendy. It is confident, rooted, and quietly excellent. Five stars, easily. If you want to understand Jaro beyond photos, this is where you start.
