Worth a visit and our 3 year old had a blast! Plenty to engage all ages. I loved seeing representation in the museum exhibits. I was born and raised in Ames, left and came back. I learned a lot! For example, I never knew the name of the old drive-in theater was "The Ranch", I just knew I loved falling asleep to movies there as a kid, with my family. It was the humble beginnings to a lifetime of me falling asleep in movies.
A lot of both nostalgia AND new learning at the Ames History Museum!

Very interesting & comprehensive. I was an ISU student decades ago but knew little about Ames history despite being a history buff. I know a LOT more now. My friend & I, & some volunteers, were the only people in the place on a Wednesday afternoon.
