The best sit-in restaurant in Urdaneta.
Food:
The menu is well crafted. They cook great tasting food.
Tuna Dinakdakan at Php350 – This is my favorite from the rest of what we ordered. The acidity is well balanced with the fish. I like that bit of charring on the skin. Their sauce is not powerful but works well with the fish.
Rib Eye Steak (300 g) at Php1,155 – It's a bit grassy. I prefer they remove the thyme before serving it to the table. Nonetheless, it's the best steak I have in Urdaneta restaurant. It's not buttered down like the one I had last year in Bacon Buffalo and Beyond in SM. Perfect medium rare despite it a quarter of an inch. It melts in the mouth.
Red Pumpkin Soup at Php125 – The favorite dish of my wife. She loved the creamy, almost silky, texture of the soup. I love it too. The cream isn't overpowering. It's a bit acidic and sour but the pumpkin flavor is the center of it all. Croutons on top of the soup isn't crunchy oraybe they're cubed breads.
Crispy Palabok at Php300 – They will pour the sauce as a form of presentation. If you want to eat it crispy, then eat it within the minute that the sauce is poured or else the sauce will permeate the noodles and once soaked, then it'll be like a normal Palabok, but the dish is packed with seafoods.
Service:
The owners, Macanlalay's, are very friendly. My wife and I went to the restaurant on the 25th to order and reserve our lunch the following day. Lovely M. gave us a bowl of potato chips while we were checking the menu. They gave us more chips the following day.
She offered us the KTV room but I declined because I wanted the atmosphere in their dining hall.
Their staffs are polite and courteous. They gave us a service button. They told us to press it whenever we need something. I pressed it a couple of times 😁.
Atmosphere:
Ashton M. is an Engineer and a contractor. The Macanlalay's built a beautiful restaurant. I love the interior design. Whoever thought of the rustic wood wall panel has an understanding of how texture helps with the ambiance in dining experience. The place doesn't feel flat.
Overall though, I love the grand staircase and Mezzanine floor. My eyes loved the interior.
