We were northbound and looking for a nice place to stop to rest and eat lunch. This place was on our way and close to the freeway. It was Sunday and no one was around. It had picnic tables and we spotted a deer while eating our lunch. We walked around and none of the buildings were open which is understandable. It was clean and spacious. There is a restroom which have regular toilets & it was clean. Glad that we found this place. There is a parking fee of $6, which we don’t mind paying to support the park.

Great state park. I love how clean it is, how well its kept up, how beautiful the surroundings are. I went for the living history day earlier this month and the volunteers were amazing

Beautiful historic hidden jem. Many travelers bypass Fort Tejon as they're in a hurry to continue, but when in the area, one should take a break, visit this hidden jem. It's full of history, and staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the story being Fort Tejon. Great area for photography as well.
