When someone asks me which part of Japan do I have most fun in, Kobe will actually be in my answer. And part of the reason is due the great time I have at Kobe Port Tower and Mosiac Big Ferris Wheel.
It feels so exhilarating standing at the top of the tower, with the strong winds blowing around us, metal mesh flooring below us and glass walls allowing us to have unblock view of Haborland and Kobe. It does feel like there is no barrier between us and the edge of the tower. So imagine that level of excitement when looking at Haborland from 108m high up above ground.
The fun doesn’t end at the your around the top of the tower. As we go down by a winding stairs to each level below, we discover digital art galleries. We create lots of beautiful fireworks by tapping the wall. We also add pastel cheery colours to the funky artwork on the wall.

An incredible walk from Chinatown to Kobe Port! I was truly amazed by the modern and spacious atmosphere here. The waterfront is wide, clean, and has plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the sea breeze. At night, the illuminated Kobe Port Tower and the Mosaic Ferris Wheel make the view magical and romantic. Right nearby is the bustling Harborland and Umie shopping area, filled with delicious food and stunning photo spots. A must-visit when you are in Kobe!

We visited Kobe Port Tower right after spending the afternoon at the Herb Gardens. We arrived just as it was getting dark , at first we thought it would’ve been nicer with more sunlight, but honestly the night view here is even better. The tower lights up with bright colours and it looks stunning against the harbour.
The whole harbour area has a really cool atmosphere at night. The reflections on the water, the breeze, and the lights from all the surrounding buildings make it feel lively but also relaxing. We didn’t go up the tower, but even just walking around the harbour was worth it. There are plenty of places to sit, take pictures, and enjoy the view.
If you’re coming to Kobe, definitely stop by here in the evening. The night vibe is immaculate — simple but beautiful.
