I recently attended the La Crosse Sport Show at the La Crosse Center with my mother, daughter, and niece on Friday, February 13th. I tend to get nervous going to events like this with the two girls because they can sometimes get overstimulated when we are in spaces with a lot of people or stimuli.
The girls showed interest in wanting to go, so I brought my mother along for the extra support. The event was very busy and well attended. I parked in the parking ramp across the street from the South Hall entrance, which was very convenient. We had pre-purchased our tickets and were able to get right in and start enjoying the event. An added bonus I thought was nice was that we were able to sign up to return the following day for the event for free if we wanted to come back.
I have been to a lot of expos and conferences and facilities like the La Crosse Center and I have to say I was impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the facility and the event. Everything was clean, easy to navigate, well displayed, and very enjoyable for my whole family! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful as well!
In fact, the girls (ages 8 &9) were sad at one point because they missed a bird show and we thought we might leave the show, but then a very friendly & helpful staff person named "Magic" showed us where they could get their faces painted & get balloon animals as well as explained that there were two other areas of the show we had not seen which included the RV section and an area that had the parakeet cage. The girls had so much fun exploring all the different campers & RVs and have a running list of which ones I need to buy and their number one favorite thing they did at the show was go inside the big parakeet cage and try to feed & pet the birds while they flew around and walked all over. It was hard to get them to leave when it was time to go!
If it had not been for the La Crosse Center staff member, "Magic", we probably would have left without having experienced so much fun and we were able to enjoy a busy public event with the girls without any issues! He really made our experience wonderful and appeared to really enjoy what he was doing and had the most positive attitude and contagious smile; it was impossible not to have a good time! I would highly recommend booking or attending events at the La Crosse Center! I know I'm looking forward to the next event I am attending later this month!
