Going here is always a treat for me. I love the seating, the old pictures, and being able to watch the employees. They actually wash dishes by hand! Make real pies (not boxed). Give you large portions of food. Like the fries are an order for one here, but in another cafe it would be the size of two orders. I always get the same thing. A maid-rite and fries. They do however have other options. When ordering a shake you always end up with extra that won’t fit in the glass and they bring you the stainless steal still cup they make it in. So yummy! Thank you to the employees for your great service, friendly smiles and conversations!

The Cedar Falls, Iowa MAID-RITE is not only rocking out their famous sandwich, they are making made from scratch PIES every day!! I had three slices! Coconut Cream, Fresh Strawberry and for nostalgia Rhubarb! All three were amazing! From the perfect flaky crust to the filling, so tasty! This location has been open for the last 77 years and owned by the same Family for the last 44 years!! Had a wonderful time with the Owner Penne and her staff, but also with My Mom, My Sister and her Family and my Best Friend Drew and his Wife Angela! Miss you all already! My favorite weekly treat…the food is great, but the biggest draw for me is getting to know the other regulars and the staff (Chad, Shannon, and Emily). Such an invaluable 'third place' for socializing in Cedar Falls, as an alternative to night time bars. Come say hi and have the Early Bird Special with me before 8am!
