We’ve had library cards as a family for a long time but have just started using the library again since starting home education recently.
The staff are always really welcoming and always willing to help.
The lady that helped us today with finding our reservations was so kind and interested in our book choices. My son has just started learning Chinese and we had reserved a book about learning Chinese and she asked my son some questions about the language and why he’s chosen to learn Chinese. My son felt really listened to, and came out of the library telling me that the librarian had really helped put him in a good mood because she was interested in what he was learning.
So, to that librarian who helped us today, thank you so much for taking an interest in my son and what he was learning. It meant so much.
Regarding the building itself, it surprised me with such a large building why the area for books was generally small. I feel that with the building size they could increase the number of books available to people, at the moment the library is has a much larger space for the computers than the books, which I am sure partly represents the world we live in now, but having more books would only be of benefit to the library users.
The parking is not free (unless using the disabled parking spaces directly outside the library) but the parking is fairly cheap and you can pay for as little as 30 minutes for 70p which considering some parking areas extortionate prices, I actually consider these prices quite reasonable.

Positive experience: massive brand new library walk in and out smooth can scan borrow books without talking to anyone if you’re introvert or just want to engage with state of the world these days with rude people lol so machines make it easier to checking and out books but 4 stars coz parking is not available infront library? Only disabled bay and motorcycle parking not for vehicles strange anyway plenty of books to browse and recommend this library
