Really enjoyed visiting the Pima County Historic Courthouse while exploring downtown Tucson during our Amtrak trip from Marshall, Texas.

This is a beautiful historic building with impressive architecture and a colorful tiled dome that really stands out. The courtyard and surrounding grounds are well maintained and make a great place to walk around, take photos, or just relax for a few minutes.

There is also a visitor center and museum here. We didn’t take the full museum tour this time, but we did spend some time inside looking around and relaxing in the shade. The exhibits and historic displays give a nice overview of Tucson’s history and how the city developed over time.

When we arrived there was a local musician playing nearby which added a great atmosphere to the whole area. The weather was perfect and it made the visit even more enjoyable.

The entire plaza and courthouse area is beautiful and very easy to explore on foot if you’re already downtown. It’s a great place to slow down for a bit, enjoy the architecture, and learn a little about Tucson’s history.

Definitely worth stopping by if you’re visiting Tucson.

    Recommended visit time: 30–60 minutes

Walked around the outside. There is an accessible elevator or stairs to get up to all 3 stories. There's also a fountain area and map, accessible restroom with buttons. Accessible sidewalk too.
Really nice historic landmark, and they have a nice grass foyer as well with some tables outside to relax at. There's also some maps and signage for learning more.

Great visitor center with an amazing diorama of southern Arizona. Also, the courtroom where Dillinger was arraigned can be visited and there are some great exhibits about the history of the law in Southern Arizona
