This place came highly recommended by many people when I mentioned I was visiting Vermont and staying close to Burlington. When we arrived, we noticed a board out front that had times and tours that were going on that day. Unfortunately, we did not book any tours in advance, and they were sold out. We saw a very nice gentleman giving complimentary tractor rides to the farm so we opted to do that. The ride itself was very nice, and then when we arrived at the farm we saw so many cute animals! They had a mother cow and her calves, some lambs, bunnies, donkeys, and even some pigs. The workers were really friendly, and my husband and I even got to walk the lambs. It was my favorite part about visiting the Burlington area! As we waited to get picked up we stopped in the small bakery onsite. Wow, they had delicious cookies and some olive bread. What a nice treat! This place is definitely worth visiting when traveling to Vermont!

Shelburne Farms is seriously one of my favorite spots in Vermont!
Their mission is all about inspiring people and teaching sustainable living, and you can really feel that everywhere you go on the farm.
Even in the winter, there’s plenty to do. The trails are perfect for a snowy walk, and if there’s enough snow, you can even snowshoe or cross-country ski. The farm feels super peaceful with the snow-covered fields and forests, and there are also fun indoor activities and programs for kids and families.
You can still see the animals and learn about how they care for them in the colder months, which is really cool.
Whether you’re hiking the winter trails, trying out some snow activities, enjoying the views, or just soaking up the farm vibes, it’s a magical spot year-round.
Check their website for upcoming events too. They had a goat hike the day we arrived and we had no idea and it was already sold out!
Definitely worth a visit anytime!

Beautiful well maintained grounds! Lovely stroll to the water, very peaceful, and easy to walk! Winter timeless beautiful and I’d love to see it in the spring, summer, and fall as well. Cute little shop as well with restrooms, and you can buy maple syrups, jams, etc!
