St. Paul's lives out two of my favorite Bible teachings from Christ: Mark 12:30-31: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” The second is Micah 6:8: He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
Churches should be welcoming and showing love to EVERYONE. I'll pray for you Nick Gilbert.

Matthew 25:40 – "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." In a time when it's dangerous to support the LGBTQ community (let alone actually be part of the Community) any church that displays a Pride flag is LIVING Matthew 25:40. It says to me that they love and accept everyone, and that it's a safe space. St. Paul's practices what they preach.

St. Paul's UMC is a cornerstone of the neighborhood. The community there is welcoming, and the values promoted are those of faith-in-action, inspired by Matthew 25:43. In a difficult time for our country, St. Paul's is an example of a congregation which seeks to be "salt and light." I have enjoyed visiting and I would feel comfortable inviting friends to visit.
