I am a lover of diners, having eaten at these affordable and family-friendly establishments across the United States, and The Dining Car did not disappoint. The vintage building and extensive menu provides the taste of diners from the 1950s for an affordable price. This is a great stop for Philly cheesesteaks and chicken croquettes at the end of a history-filled day. My one regret is that I left just before the neon lights came on. I highly recommend this place as a dining option and wish it was located closer to me!

We had a great time with the Vogt senior. The staff there was very nice and the food was great. I tried the stuff chicken which was plenty. We all enjoyed it.

Simply the best diner in Northeast Philly. Amazing menu, excellent service, plenty of parking. All the diner favorites from Chicken croquettes to French Onion Soup to spaghetti and meat balls. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only want a half sandwich, they got that too. Update December 2025, all of the above comments continues to be true.
