Overall, this Courtyard was average compared to other properties in the chain. Its key strengths are the location and service. The front desk staff and bartner were consistently helpful and professional. The location is excellent it offers many close dining options, and key attractions and other restaurants like the French Quarter are within walking distance.

The room was the main issue. Though it was clean, the fixtures felt dated. I noted rust on metal elements, including the bathroom door hinges and towel rack. The AC unit was effective but loud. Positively, the beds and pillows were comfortable.

The gym offered a good selection of dumbbell weights and cardio equipment. It has the space and would benefit from adding a pull-up bar or lat pulldown machine.

I would likely research other options for a return trip, but for a competitive rate, I would stay again for the value.

I’m giving this hotel a very low rating for several reasons. First, they do not disclose the $50 per day refundable fee that’s added on top of your total room cost. I checked out on Monday, and as of now, I still haven’t received my refund.

Second, the cleanliness was unacceptable. When I entered my room, the bathroom was only half cleaned — I had to wipe down the sink and toilet myself and clean pubic hair from the floor. The drawers also had sticky residue and hair inside, which I had to disinfect personally before using.

Lastly, I had personal items stolen from my room — my Bath & Body Works room fragrance and my cousin’s travel-size fragrance bag went missing from her toiletry bag. I reported this immediately to the front desk and even asked that housekeeping be contacted to return the items if they were taken by mistake. No one ever called me back, and the items were never returned.

I have never experienced such poor service or lack of accountability from a hotel before. This is a disgrace to the Courtyard by Marriott brand, and I will never stay at this location — or any Courtyard by Marriott.

My name is Norlishia Holmes, and I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment I received during my recent attempt to check into your hotel. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever encountered with any hotel.
On the night in question, I had been out with friends in New Orleans and, since I live approximately an hour away, I decided to book a room rather than drive home late. I completed my reservation online using my military discount and checked in via mobile.
Upon my arrival, I was informed at the front desk that the military discount could not be honored because I was not on official government business—despite presenting my valid military ID. When I asked to speak with a manager for clarification, I was told he would only speak to me over the front desk phone. I requested to speak with him in person, as I could not find anywhere on the website stating that the discount was limited to active duty personnel on official orders.
When the manager, Jason, eventually came downstairs, he immediately threatened to call the police, even though our conversation had not escalated and I had remained calm and respectful throughout. I was shocked and began recording the interaction for my own protection and to document the conversation.
Jason was ultimately able to show me that the hotel only honors military discounts for active duty personnel, at which point I agreed to pay the full rate. However, he continued to escalate the situation by insisting he would still call the police and refusing to provide service, claiming I had interrupted him during the conversation.
I left the hotel without further incident, but I am still in disbelief at how I was treated—especially being threatened with law enforcement for simply seeking clarification on a policy. At no point was I rude, aggressive, or confrontational.
I felt dismissed, disrespected, and unfairly treated. As a military member, I expected a level of courtesy and professionalism that was completely absent in this situation. I will not be booking with your hotel again and felt it was important to bring this to your attention so that others are not treated in a similar manner.
