For all those interested in Highlander military history this is a required stop if you’re in Inverness. We enjoyed it immensely in August 2025. It was a very blustery day, but it is the Scottish Highlands.

The Highlanders' Museum is the most important site to visit inside the Fort George. The heroic history of the proud Highland Regiments, which are the forebearers of the 4th Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, comes to life through well organized and presented authentic artifacts, flags, uniforms, weapons and paintings. The staff is polite and helpful and the whole establishment is well preserved and presents a fine military spectacle. As a military history enthusiast and professional military, I enjoyed the visit and highly recommend it.
