Hill Country Retreat is an absolute gem tucked away in the 35-acre Blanco hill country. We hosted our women’s art and wellness retreat here, and it exceeded every expectation.

From the beginning, Marlena was incredible—warm, attentive, and always ready to help with our guests’ accommodations or anything else we needed. Her hospitality truly elevated our experience.

The property itself is stunning, not just for its natural beauty but for its heart and craftsmanship. It’s amazing to see how so much of the retreat center is built from repurposed materials, and you can feel the care and creativity in every detail. Though I didn’t have the chance to meet Eugene, I’m genuinely impressed by the carpentry and the dedication that both Marlena and Eugene poured into creating this unique space.

Hill Country Retreat is wonderfully versatile—they host weddings, events, and even offer camping for visitors looking for a peaceful getaway. They’re also continuing to grow, with a brand new pool and additional housing currently in the works, which is so exciting.

We had our wedding here two weeks ago and I swear this venue was by far the best vendor decision we made for our day. Guests were talking about it all weekend and asking where we found such a place. I was immediately drawn to this place when I looked at the website and about 5 minutes in to our tour, my husband and I were sold!
It was great to have the place both the evening before and morning after to make set up and cleanup smoother and having our wedding party stay with us was so fun! Everyone loved the treehouse especially!
Marlena was so easy to work with and was always quick to answer my questions in detail. When we had a small plumbing issue on the night of our wedding, Eugene was all over it and had it fixed very quickly.
We were able to use dish ware and decor bought by Marlena and Eugene or passed on from other couples. It was so nice to have so many things we didn’t have to buy!
The property is so beautiful and cocktail hour in particular was so fun because there are so many picnic tables and various seats scattered around the event center.
I could go on and on but I am so glad to have had our wedding here and we are looking for reasons to come back with our friends or family in the future!

We had our wedding here in October and it was amazing. The venue made the wedding feel special, unique and polished. The venue can be used how you want and customizable. The views from the cabins are beautiful, great photo ops. The owners were incredible at answering all of our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here and/or booking your event. I can wait to go back for our anniversaries.
