Discovered this place because of anime, yes Kimi no Nawa
Initially a bit anxious I had to buy a ticket to get in, turned out no need to except you are visiting the certain exhibition inside the building. Since I was just cooling myself from the summer heat and wanted to take a look at the overall famous architecture of the building, I just enter without worry.
The exhibition room itself is divided into several rooms/hall in every floor. So you can freely choose to go wherever. This place is indeed a good one for you to admire how magnificent architecture is.

The National Art Centre and certain exhibitions are free. Some have an admission fee, and tickets are sold separately.
Nice cafe. Interesting shop.
2 restaurants are also available.
But the architecture and the lights inside are amazing. Just sitting and enjoying it is a must-do thing when in Tokyo.

Modern well lit museum. There is a lot of natural light outside the galleries due the glass atrium. The Bvlgari exhibition was interesting. It was hard to photograph the printed commentary because the metal silver sheet picked up reflections around the room. The art installations provided another way of looking at colored Bvlgari gemstones. The installation with the car wash brushes was interesting because of its scale, motion and symbolism. The museum shop on basement 1 is very nice and sells unique items.
