Extraordinary museum. Their collections are excellent! There's something for everyone here. We spent a long time chatting with docent Alice in the Baroque exhibit. I learned so much. It was a fascinating conversation. All the employees and volunteers here are friendly. The gift shop is fun, too. The girl at the ticketing desk was informative about the museum's layout and contents. She was so smiley and happy. I had a great time. Free lockers available to store your personal items, such as water bottles.

So many interesting exhibits! Anna Sui is featured now and it was so impressive to see her unique, artistic style in the many examples of her clothing designs! Worthy of a visit just for this. After this fun and entertaining showing, we made our way to a serious, thought provoking exhibit on immigration.

Don't miss the sheer panels imprinted with the names of the people who did not make it across the desert from Mexico to the US! Helps to make you realize every name listed was a real living, breathing, person just trying to get somewhere better to live and prosper…

Add in all of the other halls with more art representing all different media and you have a great place to spend a few hours on a hot summer day in Phoenix!

We visited on a Wednesday to take advantage of the pay what you want/donation entry cost which is a nice setup from 3 to 8 p.m. We enjoyed our time browsing the varied art works on the second floor, spending a little over an hour to view the majority of the pieces up there. Will have to make another trip to view the other areas within the museum though. A very interesting trip, even for someone who’s not a big museum fan.
