We didn't stay at the hotel because we had our pup with us but we did stop in to see some of the history from the 20s. We decided to stop at the bar and have a drink and Tamara was such an awesome bartender!! She concocted my husband the smoothest Old Fashion he's ever had and I had the Minted Gold and it was divine! We had already been downstairs to check out the Rathstellar and it was insane how beautiful that was but we mentioned to her that we wanted to see where Al Capone played poker and she told us where it was. Turned out the Oak Room was locked and she went out of her way to have it unlocked for us!! There was a kind man who came and met us to unlock it and show us around!! He showed us where they played and the secret doorway where Capone could escape. It was so cool! We ended up stopping by the market and purchasing Mr. Larry Johnson's book that he wrote about all the stories and history of the hotel. What a treat and such a wonderful visit to step back in time for a bit!! They really knew how to make things grande back then! Thank you!!!

This is a historic grand hotel. The service from the moment we pulled up was second to none. Check in was smooth. The elevators have 1 mirror with wood paneling from floor to ceiling you can hear the chain moving while going up or down( I loved it). We explored every part of the hotel and were able to see the Rathskeller, if you stay here stand in this room and sing the acoustics are amazing. The hand painted ceiling had us mesmerizing. I saw some reviews stating that the hotel is out dated and I couldn’t disagree more. This is a historic hotel with water pressure( haha). But in all seriousness staying here was an absolute delightful experience and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore the history of Louisville.

We had the loveliest experience at the Seelbach. Everyone was so accommodating from valet, to bellmen and front desk. I stayed there 10/4/2025 with my 86 year old, very physically limited Mom. They were there to help at every turn. The hotel was stunning with a very rich history. Thank you all so much for your hospitality.
