My first time staying at the Watergate Hotel was a big success. The service, especially the valet and bell staff, was top notch.
The rooms were spacious and had incredible views of the Potomac and the Washington monument.
Downstairs bar has an excellent outdoor area to enjoy cigars.
The indoor pool was a big hit with my son; his mom enjoyed the sauna and other spa options.
Only drawback is that their breakfast options are awful. But there are tons of great breakfast spots right nearby.
Lastly, the location is super convenient if you’re bringing a car. The daily parking rate was reasonable and you’re right off of Rock Creek Parkway.
If you’re not bringing a car, it’s also nice because there are a ton of taxis available, which I think are a much better value in DC these days.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Watergate. Most notable to us was the attention to detail and thoroughness of the housekeeping staff. In general, all the staff were very kind and welcoming. We felt we were able to easily access much of the westside of DC by walking. The rooms are nice, quiet, and appear relatively recently renovated.

Some say that customer service is a lost art – not at the Watergate. My two day stay here was impeccable. The receptionists were polite and easily catered to my needs. The room was cool and stylish. And the views and location – second to none in DC. If you're not staying here as a guest, The Next Whiskey Bar is one of the most underrated bars in the city. Otherwise, I wholeheartedly endorse a stay at the Watergate.
