This was my fifth stay at this hotel, and we stayed in the Peranakan Club Room with access to the Club Lounge.
The room, though a little dated was well maintained mostly, with only minor issues with the small flush not working (big flush was working). Besides that, the internet, air conditioning, and shower / bathtub water pressure / temperature was working perfectly. Bed linen were nice and clean, bed and pillows were most comfortable with the pillows seemingly new as well.
That said, compared to my previous visits over the past few years, the food spread in the club lounge had noticeably fewer options. However, this was more than made up for by the excellent service by Yeo, the service staff at the club lounge.
Yeo took very good care of us in the club lounge — he was attentive to our preferences, promptly topped up our drinks the moment we finished, and even made the effort to remember our room number and preferred beverage options when we returned the next day. His impeccable service and attention to detail was the highlight of the stay this round.
It was a little disappointing to learn that breakfast at the club lounge has been discontinued, requiring club room guests to have breakfast at the main buffet area instead. While there are more options, the area is significantly more crowded, which takes away from the overall club lounge experience.
Overall an almost perfect experience at Village Hotel Katong this time.
