When I leased a Virtual Office 1 year ago, I apparently missed the part about cancellation having to be done 2 months prior to expiration or I would be on the hook for another year whether I needed it or not. I am in the residential leasing business and we would not be allowed to broker a lease with such a burdensome clause. It would not hold up in court. I could understand requiring 1 additional month tacked on to the lease, but not an entire year. I know that the commercial leasing business is struggling but employing such heavy handed tactics is not good for their reputation.

Update: I was able to negotiate a reasonable settlement

Firstly, there is no one in the coworking space at $600 a month but me. Buyer Beware they do not help. Secondly, they will try to bill you twice in one month $1200. Huge conglomerate in 30 countries, can’t get in touch with billing. Charge a $75 dollar unlimited coffee fee per month hidden in the contract and mostly the machine breaks so frequently and they don’t replace it for 1 -2 months and still charge every tenant coffee fee. Unreal! Air Conditioner breaks quite frequently and they will not accommodate. Please run for your life if you are thinking about office space in this conglomerate mess. Pick someone local, support Sarasota, not some multi megalomaniac company such as this!

If you are looking for a virtual office in Sarasota, Florida, skip the hassle of Regus and go with Opus or another VO company. This Regus office is run by a manager named Paula who is rude, unprofessional, and unresponsive. It took her staff months to get us even a phone number after they admitted forgot about us, and they notified us just recently that they no longer offer faxing services, which is vital to any business's day-to-day operations. We were not advised of this nor did we have the opportunity to meet or speak with the staff at this location before signing up with Regus. After months of not hearing from Regus, we have been sent an invoice for nearly $2,000.00 and were told that the purported balance is overdue and has been sent to collections. Again, at this time we had still not received our end of the agreement from Regus. When we called to ask about this, Paula stated she would contact me, though she never did. We followed up with voicemails and emails, and still nothing. Accordingly, we have cancelled our contract with Regus Sarasota. Interestingly, we still continue to receive email invoices from them for payment. In an age with so much competition, there is no reason to go with a company that exhibits such poor customer service. Our clients deserve to be treated with integrity and respect, as do we. Moreover, its nearly impossible to speak with an actual human by phone at Regus. Spare yourself the time and headaches, and go with another local office that can provide the customer service required to succeed in business in 2024. There are plenty of amazing local realtors in town who can place you in the right spot for your business. Regus Sarasota is a no-go, and I would not be surprised if this location is soon closed. Best of luck to you, Regus, and I hope you're able to turn the Sarasota location around to better serve our community.
