Visited 2 floor department. Easily accessable by lift and friendly staff. Easy parking but pricey at minimum £1.50 per hour.

I am a product of society so this is like writing a review on a parent. At the moment I am not in a position to say anything but this place does look after its own kind eventually when other authorities step in. Cowboy landlords operating in licenced areas is rife but then this place does overlook a lot of what goes on in Bensham. Certain people who work here are really nice and helpful but others are not so understanding or accommodating for certain needs. The housing department is swamped and in a crisis at the moment but they are doing their best and the housing department here does more than over in Newcastle for example. But like everywhere else you're made to feel humiliated and degraded as you spill your life story and how you came to be sat in front of them. Two people with a number of disabilities were in an urgent situation for housing and Gateshead council saved them basically, that was years ago and they owe their future to the housing team who despite being overwhelmed by applications managed to house them in safe and secure housing.
