Matrix Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta is one of those places that tries to make you feel classy the second you walk in, like you’re not just a tired human dragging a suitcase full of wrinkled clothes and questionable life choices.

I stayed in the penthouse suite, and this thing was ridiculous in the best way. Big, clean, modern, and the kind of room that makes you stand there for a second like, “Alright, who do I have to impress to live like this permanently?”

The best part was the two sided fireplace, because nothing says luxury like having fire visible from more than one angle. It’s basically the hotel’s way of saying, “Here’s warmth, ambiance, and a subtle reminder that you are not a peasant today.”

Everything felt well kept and properly done. Not fancy in that fake way where it’s just shiny furniture and attitude. This was comfortable, polished, and actually relaxing, which is rare because most hotels feel like you’re renting a box for the night.

Overall, Matrix Hotel delivered. If you want a stay that feels upscale, quiet, and genuinely comfortable, this is the move. And if you can swing the penthouse suite, do it. You’ll leave feeling important, even if you go right back to being a regular person the second you hit the elevator.

We recently hosted a two-day work retreat/conference at the Matrix Hotel, and the experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The staff were incredibly polite, attentive, and accommodating — they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Our external guests, who joined us from different cities, also had an excellent stay and shared how pleasant and comfortable their experience was. The accommodations were modern and cozy, and the meeting space/ballroom was beautiful — perfect for our event setup.

A special shout-out to Patrick and his team for their professionalism and support with all the technical aspects of the conference — they made everything effortless for us. And of course, a big thank you to the chef and kitchen staff for the amazing food throughout the event!

Overall, a fantastic venue with equally fantastic people. Highly recommend the Matrix Hotel for both business and leisure stays in downtown Edmonton. 🥰🥰

The service here is top notch. Check in was professional and informative, fast and friendly. The room next to us had a group that was partying late into the night so we asked to be moved to a different floor and without hesitation the staff got us into a new room. The one odd thing with these rooms though was the sliding door to the bathroom. It doesn't leave a lot of privacy as there's quite a gap and there's no lock on it.
