We had dinner at the new lounge on the second floor of 1988 Bistro and absolutely loved it! The food is still as good as usual and the service remains top-notch, but the vibes upstairs is on a whole new level—cozy, stylish, and perfect for a night out. We ordered Wing Nutz, Calamari, Pochero, Sisig, Pork Binagoongan, and Chorizo Fried Rice—everything was delicious and well-prepared. The acoustic entertainment was a great addition, making the experience even better. Definitely recommend trying the lounge if you want the same great food with a much chiller vibe!

I search it in Google Maps and found this place to have a great chocolate cake, although the time I was there it's not available, so instead I ordered their banana splits where it taste really well. I dine solo, by the time it hits 7pm place is packed with people dining, either groups or couples. They have excellent customer service, not so overwhelming and very helpful. The attention they give is really worth praising for. You won't get thirsty (they fill your glass right away, no need to call them), and they are just literally one call away even if the place is packed. Usually, other restaurants will cost you your will, your voice, and effort just to call their attention. In this place, you won't need those. The atmosphere is elegant and cozy, and it feels very expensive, but not really. You can even choose to buy something for 200 below for a meal since they have options for silogs, great for solo diners.
I'm happy that I dined in this restaurant, be coming back in the future.😊🍀

1988 Bistro is a great restaurant in Dipolog City that combines a modern dining with flavorful and well-crafted dishes. Their menu is diverse, offering a mix of comfort food, local favorites, and Western-style dishes. In terms of pricing, it’s mid to high range, but for what you get, in terms of food quality, serving/portion size, ambiance, and service, it’s worth every peso. Special mention to the dessert I ordered, I forgot the name because it was quite long, but it was really good! The portion was huge, definitely enough to share. Ofcourse, the service was prompt and courteous, with staff who were polite and attentive. I highly recommend this place for both locals and visitors. 😊
