Very nice, eatery here has more of a restaurant vibe. Grounds were lovely – interesting shell and sea creature? collection. A lot of film and tv production has taken place here which adds something extra. Usual gift shop for national trust and adjoining to that is the second bookshop. Great for dog walking this one as well. Recommend a visit.

Basildon Park is well worth a visit. The grand Georgian house is stunning, beautifully restored, and full of fascinating history, while the interiors are elegant without feeling stuffy. The views from the house across the rolling Berkshire countryside are simply breathtaking.

The grounds are just as impressive. Peaceful woodland walks, open parkland, and immaculately kept gardens that are perfect in every season. It’s a wonderful place for a relaxed stroll, a picnic, or just to soak in the scenery.

Basildon Park is a wonderful place to visit. The elegant manor house is beautifully preserved, and the surrounding parkland and walking trails are peaceful and scenic. There’s also a lovely café where you can enjoy a delicious coffee or something to eat after your walk.
It’s a dog-friendly site, with free parking and free entry for National Trust members, which makes it even better. The gift shop is fantastic — full of charming souvenirs, great books, and maps that inspire future trips. Clean, free toilets are available on site, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Overall, Basildon Park is a truly enjoyable day out. Highly recommended!
