If you’re planning a road trip from Calgary going to Edmonton, don’t forget to include Red Deer in your itinerary. It’s a good way to relax you foot from the long drive plus you got to visit this wonderful recreation area.

Wonderful place! My family and friends had a great time at the park, especially the kids while doing the paddle boats (or use a row boat), where we stayed for a picnic. The place according to our friend is only half of the whole area, this one is the pond's side with a small stage where during this month until september has some mini shows. There's also a food shop where they serve soft ice cream and burgers near the pond. Adjacent to this is where the park office (I think) where you can rent for the boats (during winter they have ice skating shoes and snow shoes for rent). The only thing to remember like in any park, its usually the parking thats quite a problem, its not that crowded when we went there last weekend but it did take us 3 to 4 circles to find a spot to parked.

Just a lovely park in the city. I am not from the city but while I was there really needed to connect with nature and ground. Enjoyed an ice cream, listened to the fountain in the middle of the pond and watched the birds.
