We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were luckily able to join the last tour of the day. Our tour guide Graham was not only knowledgeable and entertaining, but like all other volunteers we had the opportunity to talk to that day, he was passionate about the history and the legacy.

If you are visiting definitely book a tour in advance if possible, and give yourself lots of time to wander afterwards. There is so much to see and explore – all original furniture and equipment with really excellent informational displays and historical photos throughout.

This is a fascinating place, and truly amazing that it exists as it does for the public to be able to experience.

The Diefenbunker is one of the most unique museums i have ever visited. Exploring the massive underground bunker gives you a fascinating look into Cold War history and how Canada prepared for a potential nuclear attack. The preserved rooms, equipment, and exhibits make it easy to imagine what life would have been like working and living in the bunker.

The self-guided tour is well organized and informative, and the sheer size of the underground facility is impressive. It’s a must-visit for anyone interested in history or looking for a truly different museum experience.

Very interesting museum and worth the trip to the area! We did a guided tour and it was great, but it ran about half an hour long and that ended up being when the museum closed, so we were a little disappointed not to have had the chance to explore more on our own. It was our fault for not checking the time they close and just assuming it would’ve been 5:00. But overall a very unique experience and cool piece of history to learn about.
