I’ve stayed here twice now, and both experiences have been excellent. The first room I was given was so lovely that they actually gave me the same room again on my second stay, which I really appreciated. This time it even included a fridge and an extra chair, which made the room feel even more comfortable and convenient.
There’s no traditional hotel reception, but all the check-in details are sent via WhatsApp, which was easy and straightforward. The cleaners come quite early, so if you’d like your room cleaned and towels replaced, I’d recommend heading out before 11am. I didn’t realise this at first, but when I called the number provided, they were very helpful and told me where I could help myself to clean towels.
The location was perfect for me as I was visiting my sister who lives in Edgbaston. There’s a Boston Tea Party nearby, which is great for breakfast or brunch, and a Morrisons just a short walk away, making everything very convenient. Amazing coffee shop next door called Cake & Culture. Overall, a great stay and I’d happily return again.

Beautiful Hotel. No staff on site but service only a phone call away. We had a small problem with our room and this was quickly resolved without fuss. Great location and very clean.

So the room is spacious and nicely decorated. Bathroom includes a rain shower head. Bed is very comfortable and room overall is clean. The location is great – 5 mins from Morrisons and the Hagley road for buses and trams.
Having no staff on site was a problem for us. Firstly, I missed the email telling us we needed a code to get in the building (that was my bad, but not typical for a hotel). The call to the supplied number went to voicemail. Once inside, the automated check-in screen had crashed and I had to power it off and on. Then it said our room was not ready and did not issue a room key. Eventually we got through to someone on the phone who gave us another code to get a room card. But, the first room lock was not working – the battery was dead. Finally we got a card to a second room. The safe in that room was not working and calls (again to voicemail) went unanswered. The door locks are also weird and you have to really confirm they are locked, otherwise they remain open.
So, overall, nice rooms, great location, but the issues with the room cards and safe not working means we'll just stay at the Marriott up the street who have real staff on-site to deal with any issues if they arise. The lack of responsiveness was a deal-breaker for us unfortunately. Having remote staff could work if they answered the phone, but they don't.
