Absolute gem of a place, cant wait to come back for a few nights!!!! Food delicious! Staff were very nice, all of them, bar staff, the breakfast serving staff, cleaner, the cooks/chefs know how to make great food. Fantastic old fashioned place.

A very pleasant experience in this quaint English country pub. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown into the restaurant where we were given seating options by a very polite young lady. The service was excellent and the range of food choice was good with an easy to read well laid out menu. The food when it arrived was presented very nicely and it was very tasty. I was in company with my wife and her 96 year old mother who has mobility issues. My only criticism is that the entry to the disabled toilet was blocked and we had to ask the people sitting at that table to move when my MIL needed to use the toilet. Other than that it was a very nice experience with lovely helpful staff and I look forward to returning soon.

Fantastic looking pub.
Reeks of history.
Well kept ales.
Locals kept to themselves but It was towards the end of the night so were unlikely to strike up a conversation with a lone walker.
Staff were friendly enough.
