Had a lovely, comfortable stay! I was here only for a night during a work visit to Newcastle. The property is a huge mansion surrounded by greenery. Since I visited in Dec, the entire property was dipped in Xmas spirit and decor. It was freezing outside when I arrived however their interiors were well maintained – warm and cosy. The room was comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The staff was friendly and polite.

The morning breakfast was a delightful experience – sitting in the garden area of the restaurant with dim lighting and soft songs in the background added to the morning charm of the place. The food was tasty and well portioned. I will definitely return for a longer stay.

Two nights here during a business trip, and the place left a solid impression.
The hotel itself is charming, tucked away with that quiet English elegance that feels increasingly rare. Rooms comfortable, service attentive, nothing to fault there.
The meeting facilities deserve a mention: well equipped, properly professional, the kind of spaces where actual work gets done rather than just scheduled.
One thought for the kitchen: the breakfast leans heavily traditional English. For those of us arriving from different culinary backgrounds, a few more continental or international options would be welcome. Not everyone wakes up ready for beans and black pudding.
But that's a suggestion, not a complaint. I'd happily return.

Well worth a stay. Seeped in history with strong links to the Industrialist – Engineer William Armstrong who owned Jesmond Dene. This property sits right beside Jesmond Dene itself, which is beautiful for walking through.
We have stayed here twice and love the old property, full of stunning Victorian features. So if you are after somewhere old and gracious to stay, this is it.
The hotel offers fine dining and also bar/ lounge food. The dining/lounge rooms are gorgeous and especially spectacular now at Christmas time.
