Please visit. It is a thoroughly enjoyable, very walkable, do it in a day-able visit. Stop into the Visitor Center first for the bookstore/exhibits/tickets/gift shop/maps/ restrooms plus general orientation, or none of the above. The area can be visited with no tickets; simply walk the streets and visit the bakery and shops. You can also purchase a ticket for full access to tradesmiths (gunsmith, cabinetmaking, etc.), Boys' School, and more, to learn about Moravian history and traditions.

The old town of Winston-Salem is beautiful. Step back in time and travel more than two centuries into the past, experiencing the customs, places, clothing, and food—the magic of the Moravian community that founded this place. You'll love it; you must visit. It's a must-see destination that invites you to discover the roots of North Carolina.

It was a Sunday so I was not able to experience the full historical significance. I did like the peaceful walk studying the architecture. The plaques were helpful. The lot 63 bakery was a great surprise with the group of folks sitting around playing instruments.
