My friend and I went to Orton Hall Hotel and spa, for an Festive afternoon tea. We were seated to wait in comfy sofas and were collected when ready to be seated for the afternoon tea. It was in a lovely big Dining Room with lovely views of the grounds around. The sandwich 's were very nice with Turkey and cranberry , another sandwich was grated cheese with onion, Festive falafel very tasty and morish.
The next tray was scones with fruit. We cut the scone and then put the jam and clotted cream on and it was a delicious cream tea. The waitress was very attentive asking if we needed more tea, we did eventually get another pot of tea.
The top layer was of assorted cakes , I was full to have any so was my friend, we asked if we could take them and they gave us a dish to take them away in. So I said to her , her husband could have mine , and that was all good. Let's hope he enjoyed them too. We throughly enjoyed the Festive Afternoon Tea. I photographed a wedding at Orton Hall Hotel & Spa and it was a beautiful venue to work at. The historic architecture and landscaped gardens provide stunning backdrops for couple portraits in every season.

The ceremony and reception spaces feel elegant yet relaxed, and the team were professional and attentive throughout the day, helping everything run smoothly. A wonderful choice for couples looking for a classic, romantic wedding setting.

Tired room but very clean and extremely comfortable. Perfectly fitted out with everything we could want and 2 lovely gift boxes for our dog.
The Ramblewood bar accommodated our dog. When we arrived for our meal they were expecting us and we were greeted by name. Dietary issues were dealt with efficiently, the food was delicious and staff quietly attentive throughout. Breakfast was good too – nice bacon and sausages!
I should have packed wellies for walking in the grounds and a mat just inside the room to stand muddy shoes on and for wiping down muddy paws would have been helpful.
A good stay, would happily return another day.
