We visited Osaka Castle Park in early January 2026, and it was absolutely beautiful. The park is very spacious with plenty of garden clusters, making it perfect for a relaxed walk while enjoying nature in the middle of the city.
There are many food stalls scattered around the park, which adds to the lively atmosphere. The view of Osaka Castle is stunning, especially with the castle surrounded by ditches and canals that make it feel even more majestic and historic.
What we loved most were the hidden gems inside the park, including a figurine museum and various spots that explain the history of Japan and Osaka in an engaging way.
A must-visit place if you are in Osaka. Highly recommended and thumbs up!

Walking around the castle grounds with my wife and kids was very enjoyable. The park is spacious, clean, and family-friendly, perfect for slow walks, photos, and letting kids move freely without feeling cramped. The scenery alone already feels worth the visit, even without going inside the castle.
That said, a small constructive note: the walk from the nearest station to the main castle can feel quite long, especially with kids or strollers. Also, the interior museum experience inside the castle is more educational than immersive—some interactive elements could make it more engaging for children.
Overall, a must-visit historical spot in Osaka with beautiful seasonal views. Come for the scenery and atmosphere, take it slow, and enjoy it as part of a relaxed family day.

Osaka Castle is one of the most iconic spots in Japan, and it truly lives up to the hype. The castle sits beautifully in the middle of a large park, surrounded by moats, stone walls, and peaceful walking paths that make the whole place feel grand but relaxing at the same time. The castle itself is stunning up close, with its white walls, green roofs, and golden details that look amazing in photos.
If you can, visit both during the day and at night. During the day, you get the full scenery and lively atmosphere, but at night the castle lights up beautifully and feels much quieter, almost magical. It’s a completely different vibe and perfect for photos or a peaceful evening walk.
Overall, Osaka Castle is a must-visit—rich in history, beautiful to explore, and even more special if you experience it both day and night.
