A bit of a strange museum… a random collection of items – from taxidermy to Roman life… but a really great space to spend a few hours! And I love the connection this museum has to the local history.

Brilliant museum which is located in the Victorian town hall right in the town centre.
This museum is popular for range of collection of artifacts, including replica of the Bayeux Tapestry, Roman artifacts, and exhibits on local history. There are 2 floors where first floor is dedicated to the Bayeux tapestry. Second floor is wide range from atrium, Green space to Silchester gallery. You can easily spend few hours here if you like history and culture.
There is no entrance fee and it's one of the main highlight in Reading.
