What a fantastic experience, far exceeded expectations. It was our first time and I was a bit worried we might feel out of place but the staff couldn’t have been kinder and more welcoming. One of our party is autistic and it was easy to discuss our needs in advance and find a suitable table on the day. We had afternoon tea, the food was delicious and generous in quantity, and there were 14 teas to choose from to compliment our food.We were celebrating a special birthday and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and took the time to make it a really special experience. Thank you, looking forward to coming back already.

There was a bit of confusion even though I pre booked an stair lift arrangement prior to my reservation to meet at 23 Maddox Street instead of the main entrance because my friend has an disability and unable to do stairs. however one of the staff called Simon was very kind and helpful and chatty, and attended at 23 Maddox Street to greet us and help my friend down the stair lift. Another male staff with glasses was very welcoming and made the experience very smooth to show us to our chair despite lateness of some of my friends. The waitress who was attended our table was really kind but very busy attending other tables, as it was Sunday afternoon with restaurant really busy, so it was nice to have other waiters attend to our table. We were offered to hang our coats and bags for free in the cloak room and just given an tag to collect after our meal. The glade room was beautiful and love the forest theme and mirrors that moves, the chairs and sofas were very comfortable and portion sizes were enough and not too big or little, enough to get you full. They were very attentive and even more so with my friend who was disabled and needed to go to the loo which was an excellent service. Next to the cloak room, you will see all of the sketch merchandises which I loved. The toilet was appetising pleasing, with space loos and red heart tree for valentine and an staff dressed in an maid attire that clean up the bathroom, very clean! Also went pass one of the room either the Parlour or Gallery but it was beautiful with pink theme and musician playing brigdeton songs on the violins. It was for my 30th birthday and they even gave me an small birthday cake to my suprise which was wonderful at the end. We did the lunch menu, three dishes for £36, or two dishes for £32. I ordered an pate en cotes, gnocchi, and sketch 56, Jasmine Silverneedle Tea all very delicious! Defo recommend going back again for special occasions as it was an treat!

My family of four (daughter 12 and son 17) wanted to try a traditional tea. We had an amazing time. We especially loved the sandwiches which can be refilled. The room was beautiful. The violins were fun playing modern songs. The ballerina was a great touch. And of course the bathrooms are exciting to see in person. All four of us had a blast! Great mix of tradition, comfort and modern.
