This parish was news to me. We frequent Dapitan but my visit to The fantasy land and the desire to finish my simbang gabie was a wholesome experience.. the Mass was solemn and the parishoners was all participative

The Dapitan parish was established in 1631 by Jesuit Fr. Pedro Gutierres. The St. James Parish Church was built in 1871 in honor of the patron saint of Dapitan, St. James the Great. The old Spanish masonry and architecture are still evident to this day even if a century has passed since its construction.
