St. John the Evangelist Church at Cotehill is a beautiful church that was built on consecrated ground over 140 years ago. It has beautiful, amazing stained glass windows. There is a regular service on Sundays, but times do vary, and on odd occasions, the service is at 9 am, earlier than the usual time of 10.30 am. The churchyard is private and beautifully peaceful. My husband and I have very close family buried there, and we also maintain the flower bed at the front entrance.

A beautiful Church in dire need of tlc and a vicar but a Church is made by its community. I have recently moved to Carlisle and visited this Church. The warmth and friendliness I received from members of the congregation sold it. If you're looking for a place of worship you'll be warmly welcomed here, no doubt.

Great for COVID vacs didn't wait long.Parking easy even though heavy traffic due to m6 closed. Flu vacs as well.
