We have just come back from a wonderful couple of nights in this incredible hotel. It was such a treat from start to finish, with a lovely welcome, excellent service, very high standards of cleanliness and a super relaxing, almost other-worldly spa experience. Special shout-out to Michael Bland whose professionalism, warmth and sense of humour really stood out. There was also a lovely waiter who served us dinner on 1st March and was also there at breakfast on 2nd and 3rd – we didn’t get his name, but he was particularly attentive and pleasant. All the staff though were very courteous and welcoming, I have to say. Thank you all for an amazing stay. My only suggestion for improvement would be more vegan options on the dinner menu and maybe some oat milk to have with coffee in the bedrooms. Other than that, just perfect.

We have just returned from a weekend stay and it was outstanding from beginning to end. The building itself is magnificent. Proper Victorian splendour, sweeping corridors, grand columns and that wonderful sense of theatre on arrival. It truly feels like the grand dame of the British seaside. We stayed in the Debussy Suite overlooking the sea, and even with the rather moody English weather, the setting was atmospheric and rather beautiful.

What elevates this hotel beyond its architecture, however, is the people. The team are engaging, warm and clearly proud of what they do. There is nothing forced about the service. It feels natural, generous and sincere.

Sam in the bar mentioned on our first evening that he had baked banana bread for his girlfriend. The next day he thoughtfully brought some in for us to try. It was such a kind, personal touch and set the tone for the whole stay. Harry, meanwhile, is a true craftsman behind the bar. He shared an experimental fat-washed cocktail he was developing, and it was superb. Every drink he prepared was elegant, balanced and clearly made with care.

Finn, the sommelier in Mirabel, was hugely impressive. Young, confident and exceptionally knowledgeable, he guided us through the wine list with real assurance. My wife also enjoyed a visit to the spa and spoke very highly of the experience, particularly Tash, who looked after her wonderfully.

And then there is David, the concierge. Quite simply, he was the star of the show. He gave us an extraordinary amount of his time, never once making us feel hurried, always present, always impeccable. His service was intuitive and flawless, but beyond that, he brought heart. There is a generosity of spirit about him that cannot be taught. He made us feel known, valued and genuinely welcome. I cannot speak highly enough of him. He is a tremendous asset to the hotel and embodies everything great hospitality should be.

The Grand Hotel Eastbourne delivers grandeur, warmth and proper old-fashioned hospitality in the very best sense. We left feeling thoroughly looked after and already planning our return.

we spend Christmas days at the Hotel. the service is excellent, they realy take care about you. the room is not too big and not to small. i could see that they have suites and bigger rooms. christmas eve, day and boxing meals where well served. we were a bit unlucky with cofee and dessert it took ages (over 30min) but they tryed always to make it short until they figure it out. if you want to relax at the Spa, try it. It's not extremely big like some hôtels but more then enough to have a relaxing time. for a first Time at this hôtel i had a fantastic good experience for what they provide. i'm pretty sure we will come back again in another period of the year
