This museum houses an eclectic collections of paintings, stamps, coins, personal items of Jorge Vargas which he bequeathed to the university, plus an evolving exhibitions. Unfortunately, when I visited in April, only the paintings were on display and everything else was being re-organised and closed to the public. My favourite painting was "Idilio" by Juan Luna which reminded me of the Art Nouveau in Europe.

The upper floor also had a exhibition on Yugoslav Naif art, which were fantastic display of surreal, fantasy and folklore painting on glass

The Jorge B. Vargas Museum is one of the 9 museums in the University of the Philippines Diliman campus. Museum has galleries on 3 floors. Ground floor is dedicated for temporary exhibitions. First floor is home to the collections of art, books, memorabilia of Jorge B. Vargas who donated his holdings to UP in 1978 (among them a great number of paintings of Amorsolo). On the second floor, the museum presents the art works sequestered by the PCGG from a trove of pieces traced to the family of former President Ferdinand Marcos. Specially interesting is the collection of orthodox icons. The Museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Entrance fee is 30 PHP (20 PHP for students).
