Along the Yazoo River, close to where it feeds in to the Mississippi and at the bottom of Vicksburg MS the USACE built concrete flood walls. In the early 2000s a group of talented artists painted murals on each of the roughly 15' wide by 10' high wall panels depicting aspects of the history of Vicksburg ( notably excepting the 1863 conflict). Each has a bronze plaque explaining the painting. All are quite nice but these are 3 of my favorites. An interesting place to go if you are in Vicksburg. I must say that the surrounding area is not particularly attractive. Still, worth the stop.

Absolutely beautiful murals and such detail in them too!! Definitely a nice place to walk around and enjoy history and fresh air. Right beside the Mississippi River as well!!
