Stunning gardens! You can get tickets online or at the gate, $8 for visitors and $6 for locals, veterans discount as well as Museums for All with SNAP/EBT. On a normal visit I’ll spend around 1.5 to 2 hours here, but if I bring a book I’ll be here all day!! Picturesque, cozy, something new to find every visit. The staff is amazing, very helpful – I love asking what their favorite part of the garden is because everyone has different answers and you’ll learn different things about each garden (fossils found here, Taniguchi spending 18 months on the Japanese Garden, a lotus from Japan on site). Friendly for all ages – for strollers or wheel chairs there is an ADA trail. They offer events like yoga or garden club meetings and have fun days like Dino days or dog days! Dogs allowed on leash. They do accept and offer reciprocal membership to botanical gardens thru AHS network. It is small-medium but has a lot of character and heart and you can tell the curator and team put a lot of work into maintaining such a beautiful space. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable ensuring it feels like a welcoming community space!

Zilker Botanical Garden is a beautiful and peaceful place right in the heart of Austin. The grounds are well designed, with winding paths that take you through a variety of themed gardens, including the Japanese garden, rose garden, and cactus and succulent areas. The koi ponds, waterfalls, and shaded walkways make it a relaxing spot to stroll and enjoy nature.

It’s a great place for photography, a quiet walk, or just a break from the busy city. The garden is not huge, but it’s full of charm and very well maintained. Definitely worth a visit if you’re spending time in Austin!

A quiet, well maintained small botanical gardens that has some big surprises! Not your everyday experience. Bring your camera, your sketch pad or just a book. Plenty of places to sit and think, or even get married. The grounds are gorgeous and varied. It’s a treat to see.
