Great free city zoo. Took the train uptown and explored the entire park in just a couple hours. The lion and gorilla enclosures were so spacious and great. Loved seeing so many animals outside enjoying the crisp October air.

Lincoln Park Zoo is fun. It is a joy.

For anyone having grown up in Chicago, can you imagine having Lincoln Park taken away?

Now consider it is next to Lake Michigan, can you see a better community without the lake?

Well, Lincoln Park Zoo is woven into the culture of many communities, just like the lake is to the Great Lakes, which gives the shore its globally unique ecology.

Yes, it’s free to attend! Praises in perpetuity to LPZ and all whom give the public access to culture through such magnanimous endeavors. Not even in imagination can I conclude an easy path for your scientific work, and public engagement to be easy for your mission. You are serving the nation across many disciplines.

And if you are inclined to cycle Chicago to get here, the zoo is well appointed to force you to engage with nature. Because the trails are gripping the space between the sky scrappers and Lake Michigan.

Having an iconic locale should be impact enough for a good day in Chicago. However, the predominantly brick architecture through the zoo is surprisingly equally positively jarring. It feels as if it helps to tell the story of where the zoo started, where it is, and where it is going. To my point, I do believe you, when you say you are helping the animals.

    Thank you.

What a beautiful place to spend a weekend afternoon. This was my first visit to LPZ and would love to visit again. The place is massive so be prepared for a lot of walking. There’s so many different types of wildlife to see. On this particular day I only saw the lions and primates and a few other animals along the way.
Though it was closed off I did get to see the Peoples Gas Pavilion (The Honeycomb) but think it would have been nicer had there not been so much brush and dead weed surrounding the area.
Overall I think zoo is a great place to spend time alone or with friends and family.
