I graduated with honours from the Biotechnology Health program at Georgian College, and I can confidently say it was a transformative experience. The curriculum was well-structured and covered a wide range of essential topics in biotechnology, molecular biology, and laboratory techniques. The instructors were knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in student success. The hands on lab training was a major highlight, giving me the practical skills and confidence needed for real world biotech roles. The college also offered strong academic support and career resources that helped me prepare for life after graduation. Overall, I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to build a solid foundation in the health sciences and biotechnology field.

I’m a 4th-semester student at Georgian College, and I want to share my honest experience after the recent teacher strike.

During my previous semesters, all of our tests were in multiple-choice (MCQ) format. This system was fair, clear, and allowed students to properly demonstrate what they had learned. However, after the strike ended and teachers returned, the format of our tests changed completely — now most tests are written, short-answer, or long-answer questions. These are much harder than before, and the sudden change has made it very stressful for many students.

It feels unfair to change the entire testing system halfway through our program. We were taught and evaluated in one way for years, and now everything is different with little time to adjust. Many students feel this might cause unnecessary failures and extra financial pressure, as those who fail have to pay again to retake subjects.

I kindly request the college administration and instructors to not be too strict and to consider returning to the MCQ-style testing we had before. It was a fairer and more consistent method for both students and teachers, and it helped maintain a balanced learning environment.

We all respect our professors and understand their struggles, but we hope Georgian College will also consider the situation of students who have already invested so much effort, time, and money in their education.

    Graduated a few years back.
Was treated with very disrespectful behavior. On multiple occasions, I was spoken to like I was a toddler and asked to have an adult call them to deal with it despite being an adult myself.
They lost paperwork on multiple occasions and they took no responsibility for their errors.
Additionally, they lost payments in my first semester, never notified me that they had not logged it and held back my diploma because of it, forcing me to go into the office the day before graduation with record of my payment from 2 years back to resolve the issue. They said it was my fault that they didn't logged the payment and requested that I pay it again with penalty fees.
Here we are now attempting to get support with records as an Alumni and nothing changes. No accountability or support.
