What a lovely place to stay! Location is great, not far from the railway station, and a short walk to lots of local attractions and the city centre. Staff are welcoming and the accommodation is great! Smart, very clean and comfortable with a lovely shower too. Stayed here once before with my cousins for the races, this time with my husband, who was equally impressed with everything. Can't leave without mentioning the wonderful food, all great quality. Check out the beautiful gardens too! I wouldn't hesitate going back if I was staying in York, I think Bar Convent is now my go to!!

This is a great place to stay and explore. The room was cosy and comfortable with a TV and plenty of tea and coffee. It was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was freshly cooked and piping hot with free continental options available as well. The history of the place is magnificent and there are lots you can do from visiting the shop, cafe, chapel and museum. I would definitely recommend as its very close to the city centre and train centre.

Do take the tour of the building if you can and visit the museum- discounted if staying.
