They really did make the whole planning experience so enjoyable.
From initial contact, to viewing the venue to throwing ideas around, Carol and Craig really immersed themselves into our vision and helped make it become a reality.

We loved the history of the barn, the farm house where we stayed and the creative freedom Carol and Craig gave us. (The brewery was also a HUGE bonus)

Carol and Craig were so accommodating with our ideas and timings, and we had SO many comments on the flow of the day which was solely down to their guidance and hard work.

Blackshaw Barns was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. Craig and Carol are just brilliant — so down-to-earth, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making the whole experience feel personal. From the start, they helped us add little touches that made the day feel completely “us,” and nothing was ever too much trouble.

The venue itself is stunning. Our guests absolutely loved it and kept commenting on how beautiful and unique the whole place felt. We stayed on-site in the farmhouse, which was gorgeous — spacious, comfortable, and such a lovely way to kick off the celebrations in a relaxed way.

The whole day had this easy, fun vibe that felt really natural, and a massive highlight was the beer that Craig brews himself. Our guests still talk about it! It added such a cool, personal touch that you just don’t get at most venues.

If you want a wedding venue with amazing hosts, a stunning setting, and a relaxed, personal feel, we honestly couldn’t recommend Blackshaw Barns enough. Love, the Lavelle's x

Where to begin?! Steven & I had our wedding here last weekend, and it was just so wonderful!

I originally came to see the venue in September 2024 when it was still a work-in-progress but I knew that it was exactly what we were after – a blank canvas that we could make our own, relaxed, and in the most beautiful farmhouse with so much charm. However, what sold it to us was Carol & Craig who are just the kindest, calmest and most organised couple who have been a joy to work with. Throughout the process, Carol has had the answer to any question that we’ve asked, had us consider things we hadn’t even thought of and despite me finding parts of the wedding process stressful, anytime I came to the venue or spoke to Carol & Craig I was instantly relaxed and felt excited again. It was also really special that we got to use independent, local suppliers (as well as our own family & friends) on the day as it's something that's important to both of us.

The weather wasn’t what we had hoped for on the day (as a result of Storm Amy) but I honestly didn’t even notice it, and the day ran so smoothly thanks to Carol & Craig. They did so much behind the scenes, including finding our marriage documents, adjusting the layout of the venue as the day progressed and liaising with all of our suppliers. The bar staff were also wonderful and went down a treat with the guests and we’ve just had so many lovely complements about the venue from guests afterwards.

We cannot thank you enough and wish we could do it all over again, I honestly can’t remember a day where I’ve been so relaxed & happy. I’m so impressed that you’ve managed to do this, and you deserve all the success in the future. We really hope we get to return as guests at some point!
