Modern, bright, and full of young energy — the Ottawa Art Gallery feels alive the moment you step inside. The architecture is open and inviting, and the exhibitions have a fresh, contemporary spirit that makes the space feel constantly in motion. It’s a great place to pause during a downtown walk and take in art that reflects the city’s creativity and momentum.

Well worth visiting! Four floors of art. There were more abstract works for sale on the first floor, some of which we really enjoyed. The second floor had works from the Firestone collection; some Group of Seven that we hadn't seen before and some from their contemporaries. The third floor had some textile work, including a couple intended to be wearable. The fourth floor was LGBTQ+ artists.

A hidden gem right in downtown Ottawa! Entry is free but donations are encouraged. I find it convenient that it is open till 9pm on Saturdays which made it easy for a quick evening visit.
It’s worth checking out the works of artists from the Ottawa area and beyond. Should not take more than a couple hours. Parking is available at the Rideau Centre which is a short walk away.
